Mechero Energy is an energy company focused on developing innovative energy conversion solutions. Our purpose is to help reduce the planet’s contamination while increasing efficiency in the energy supply chain.
Our history began at MIT and then evolved in the thermal-fired power generation sector with over 400 MW’s installed in the past 20 years in emerging markets.
In 2014 Mechero began as an entrepreneurial venture to provide low-emission fuel supply solutions for distributed power gen applications. The experience of its founders with flare gas monetization solutions kick started Mechero in 2014 with its first venture – Termo Mechero Morro (TMM). TMM converts stranded flare gas of the Ecopetrol Pauto-Floreña Gas Field in Casanare, Colombia to generate 59 MW into the regional power grid.
Since then, the company has focused on aggregating and transitioning stranded resources in several power generation, gas trading and fuel processing projects.
In 2020 the Company decided to start investing in new clean energy solutions. Mechero is currently developing green H2 high-efficiency production technology through its subsidiary Nikki Energy and modular small-scale ammonia production unit through its subsidiary Course 2 Energy LLC.
We are made up of a diverse team with different areas of expertise which allows us to quickly analyze an opportunity and deploy resources. Our main office is in Miami, FL with project development in the United States, Latin America and West Africa.
